Judge delays sentencing of former Newsday execs; calls for restitution, not jail

A federal judge yesterday delayed sentencing seven people, including former prominent executives at Newsday and its former Spanish-language sister paper Hoy, for their role in a massive circulation scandal, saying he wanted to ensure that he could legally require, as he felt was appropriate, for them to personally payback the $90 million lost by advertisers.
